Daniel combines stories of faithful Jewish exiles with visions of earthly empires and God’s everlasting kingdom. God preserves His servants and assures them that human powers will pass but His rule will triumph.

The first half tells how Daniel and his friends remain faithful while serving foreign empires. God grants wisdom, preserves them through the furnace and lions’ den, humbles proud rulers, and proves sovereign over changing kingdoms.

The second half records symbolic visions of beasts, horns, heavenly conflict, persecution, and divine judgment. These difficult images assure suffering believers that brutal empires are temporary and the Most High will establish His everlasting rule.

Daniel combines courageous daily obedience with hope in God’s final victory. Prayer, confession, and trust sustain the faithful while they wait, and the book points toward resurrection and the kingdom given to the Son of man.

Daniel invites readers to consider faithfulness, kingdom, sovereignty and to respond to God with thoughtful faith and faithful action. Its message contributes to the Bible’s larger story of creation, covenant, redemption, and the hope ultimately fulfilled in Jesus Christ.
