YOU MATTER. HELP IS WORTH REACHING FOR.
Hope & Support
For hard days, anxious moments, and hurtful experiences. Find a small next step, a verse to hold close, and words to ask for help.
What would help right now?
You can explore more than one. There is no test and no right way to feel.
A SMALL NEXT STEP
When everything feels heavy
Depression deserves care. You are not failing God by struggling, and you do not need to earn help.
- Choose one manageable act of care: water, a meal, rest, or gentle movement if you can.
- Tell someone safe how you have been feeling. Ask for company or practical help.
- Talk with a healthcare professional if symptoms persist, affect daily life, or feel severe. You can ask for help now; you do not have to wait.
Words to start a conversation
Send this to someone you trust, or change it to sound like you.
I have been feeling really low, and I do not want to handle it alone. Could you check in with me and help me find support?
A short prayer for this moment
God, meet me in this heavy moment. Help me receive care, find a safe person to talk with, and take one small step today. Amen.

Come back to this moment
If it feels helpful, notice your surroundings with this short grounding exercise. Skip anything uncomfortable. This is an optional calming practice, not a treatment or an emergency response.
No timer. Move at your own pace.
Helping a friend or witnessing bullying?
Listen without blaming or minimizing. Tell a trusted adult when safety is at risk. Do not join in, share harmful content, or put yourself in danger. Offer to walk with the person to get help.
If someone talks about suicide, take it seriously, help them reach 988, and involve a safe adult if they are a child. Do not promise to keep a safety concern secret.
Twelve Scriptures to return to
Read them in context. These reflections offer encouragement; they do not promise an instant cure or replace care.
Deuteronomy 31:6You do not have to face this alone.
“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”
King James Version
Moses encouraged Israel before a difficult journey. Courage can include asking someone to walk with you.
Ephesians 2:10Your life has purpose.
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
King James Version
Paul describes a life of grace and purpose in Christ. Your worth is not measured by a productive day.
Jeremiah 31:3Love beyond a difficult season.
“The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.”
King James Version
God spoke enduring love to his people in a promise of restoration. This invites reflection on love that does not disappear in hard seasons.
Psalm 34:18Near to the brokenhearted.
“The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”
King James Version
A broken heart is not a reason to hide from God. Bring your pain honestly, and let safe people help carry it.
2 Corinthians 12:9Grace when you feel weak.
“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
King James Version
Paul received grace in a struggle that did not simply vanish. Needing support is not spiritual failure.
Galatians 6:9Small good steps still matter.
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
King James Version
Keep taking small steps toward good. Rest, boundaries, and help can support perseverance; this is not a demand to endure harm.
Psalm 145:14Support when you feel weighed down.
“The LORD upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down.”
King James Version
This psalm praises God’s care for those weighed down. You can ask for support without first having everything together.
Galatians 3:26Belonging in Christ.
“For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”
King James Version
Paul speaks of belonging through faith in Christ. Other people’s rejection does not decide your place in that family.
Joshua 1:9Courage for the next step.
“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
King James Version
God encouraged Joshua in his responsibility to lead. You can take a brave next step while still feeling afraid.
Psalm 46:1A place to turn in trouble.
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
King James Version
Faith gives room to seek refuge. A safe place, a trusted person, and professional care can be part of getting help.
Proverbs 24:16A setback is not your whole story.
“For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.”
King James Version
This proverb speaks of resilience through adversity. A setback need not define your future; it is not a promise of instant recovery.
1 Samuel 16:7More than outward appearances.
“But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.”
King James Version
When Samuel was choosing a king, God redirected his attention from appearance to the heart. Looks and popularity do not determine someone’s worth.
